Mia (w)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Mia has really had an extremely bad start in life. She was born somewhere in Romania in March 2024. With considerable certainty, she and her siblings were abandoned together on the side of a highway with her four siblings. Apparently, they were also mistreated. Mia had injuries all over her body, and she had to be cared for and treated daily. Today, she is doing great. Praise be, she has not suffered any long-term effects and she is a friendly, teenage dog who still finds people wonderful despite everything. Her current biggest concern is that no one has fallen in love with her, because so many want small dogs and Mia, with her approximate height of 50cm, is not a Chihuahua. Her two sisters, Greta and Hanna, as well as her brother, Milo, were already able to travel to Germany, where they found wonderful families. Can we now make this miracle happen for our Mia? Can we ensure that she does not spend the winter in Romania and that she finally gets the great happiness in life she deserves after all the bad things she has gone through? We would be so happy to welcome the pretty mouse. Now she is looking for a little bed and wants to storm your and your family's heart. Does she have the time, patience, and a big heart? Do you know that puppies cannot be left alone, are not house-trained, and will turn your life upside down? … and are still not deterred? Then please get in touch with us. Mia will be dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas, and travel to the EU with a passport. … and will be rehomed with V. All our dogs come to Nuremberg and would also like to be picked up here. Contact: or on fb All our dogs travel with official Trace papers and of course, we also have Paragraph 11.

About Mia (w)

What life with Mia (w) looks like

Mia (w) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
