adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Miko has found a home! His story: 45665 Recklinghausen. Miko got to travel to a foster home! Sally, Miko, Elfa, and Elly are four incredibly sweet puppies who excel in being well-behaved. Although these four social and friendly siblings are fortunate to have such caring attention from those on site, they can't wait to move into their forever homes and grow into a cozy dog bed (medium-sized). The foster home reports: Miko is a very open, smart, and active little guy. He loves all people and has gotten along with every dog he's met so far. Miko understands very quickly what he's allowed to do and what he's not. Typical for a puppy, he's playful and super kid-friendly. He also knows how to be alone for a short time with another dog. He patiently waits in his dog bed until someone comes back. A great, eager-to-learn puppy! Miko is the little rooster in the coop. The open, cheerful, and playful young puppy is 4 months old and lives in a foster home in Romania. He gets along well with the children and the cat that live there. The social male dog with his dark fur and white chest will grow up, likely to be small to medium-sized. We wish the little Miko, despite his wonderful development so far, people who won't have any expectations of him. House training, leash manners, and basic commands; these are all things that Miko must learn step by step. But with treats and lots of patience and love, the little puppy will have it down in no time. Puberty is still on the horizon. A time when young puppies often have a bit of mischief in their heads and test their limits. With a sovereign and loving approach, one should guide Miko through this time. He would be thrilled to attend a positively working puppy or dog school! After a positive assessment, he will be microchipped, dewormed, and given an EU pet passport. He would also be thrilled about a loving foster home. Do you have a cozy dog bed free for Miko? We look forward to your inquiry! Many thanks, Shari! You named Miko! As of: 21.03.

Vielen Dank Shari! Du hast Miko seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 21.03.2024

About Miko

What life with Miko looks like

Miko is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
