Voor deze kat zoeken we een thuis waar ze, door haar nog ietwat bange karakter, niet naar buiten kan. Karakter en achtergrond van de kat: We werden aangesproken door een oudere man die aangaf dat er al een tijdlang een aantal katjes in zijn tuin langskwamen om te eten. Sinds kort waren er ook drie kittens bijgekomen. Aangezien hij binnenkort op reis ging en de katjes dan geen eten zouden krijgen vroeg hij onze hulp. Op die manier kwam mama Mila samen met haar drie kleine, zieke kittentjes in opvang. Zelf woog ze amper 2 kg en moest ze haar kleintjes nog eten kunnen geven. Met haar smal gezichtje, vaalbruin vachtje en tranende oogjes kwam ze in opvang. Heel erg beschermend en zorgend voor haar kleintjes. De eerste weken kwam Mila amper uit haar beschermend holletje waar ze zat samen met haar kleintjes. Naarmate de kleintjes de wereld durfden te verkennen werd ook Mila iets moediger. Langzaamaan kwam ze aanschuiven voor het gezamenlijk eetmomentje en wrijft ze met haar staartje langs het dichtsbijzijnde meubelstuk om te laten weten dat ze je aanwezigheid apprecieert. Je kan haar op die momenten zachtjes aaien, maar haar opheffen begrijpt ze nog niet. Elke dag maakt ze grote vooruitgang en durft ze iets meer de nieuwe situatie verkennen. Ze loopt nu al dikwijls rond en geniet van een zachte aanraking en lieve woordjes. Ze schrikt nog steeds van nieuwe geluiden en voor nieuwe mensen verstopt ze zich omdat ze niet weet of de situatie veilig is. Dit meisje vraagt van haar mensjes vooral veel tijd, een rustige omgeving en aandacht. Haar vacht is ondertussen al bijna weer prachtig zwart en ze kan zo genieten van een bordje natvoer. Haar lievelingsplaats is ergens bovenop een krabpaal of een kast zodat ze een goed overzicht heeft. Het is voor haar dus belangrijk dat ze in een rustige omgeving terechtkomt, liefst met een lief sociaal vriendje die haar wat kan geruststellen en haar kan helpen wennen aan een nieuwe thuis. Het buitenleven mist ze totaal niet en omdat ze nogal bang kan reageren is het aangewezen om haar veilig binnen te houden. Ze houdt er zo van om op een zachte, warme plaats te liggen. Een potentieel adoptiegezin zal er zich ook bewust moeten van zijn dat Mila een heel gevoelig katje is dat sowieso opnieuw wat tijd nodig zal hebben om te wennen. Haar tranende oogjes zijn helemaal genezen, maar een opstoot tijdens de stress van een adoptie kan. Alle katten zijn ontvlooid, ontwormd, gevaccineerd, gesteriliseerd, gechipt en geregistreerd. Mila is getest op aids en leucose en testte negatief op beide. We vragen de gebruikelijke tussenkomst in de dierenartskosten van 210 euro per kat omdat beide vaccinaties al gegeven werden. Adoptieprocedure: Er wordt eerst telefonisch nagegaan of er een goede match kan zijn tussen jou en de kat, nadien kan een afspraak gemaakt worden voor een bezoekje zodat jullie met elkaar kunnen kennis maken. Bij adoptie wordt een adoptiecontract getekend en de adoptiebijdrage wordt betaald bij het afhalen van de kat. Iedere kat vertrekt met een Europees paspoort.
