Voor deze kat zoeken we een thuis waar hij niet naar buiten kan of in een veilig afgesloten tuin of koer. Karakter en achtergrond van de kat: Otto kwam in opvang terecht nadat zijn baasje gestorven was. Samen met zijn vriendje Thor dachten ze eerst dat hij als buitenkat geplaatst moest worden omdat ze nogal bang konden reageren. Bij de eerste controle van de dierenarts werd echter snel duidelijk dat deze katten zeker een mooie kans op een warme thuis konden krijgen. De eerste dagen kwamen ze nauwelijks uit hun holletje en waren ze bang voor alle nieuwe geluiden. Na een tijdje had Otto echter door dat het binnenleven bij die mensen nog zo slecht niet is. Een warme slaapplaats, lekker eten en mensen die zo lief tegen hem waren. Van zodra hij dat door had, kwam de lieve loebas in hem naar boven. Hij heeft even tijd nodig gehad, maar zijn liefde voor een bordje natvoer was niet tegen te houden. Hij komt met zijn blinkende zwarte vacht en staartje omhoog langs je benen vleien om toch maar het grootste bord in de wacht te slepen. Die grote mensenhanden geven hem lekker eten en kunnen zo goed over zijn kopje aaien. Dat is voor hem onweerstaanbaar. Hij had hele slechte tandjes dus die zijn allemaal verwijderd, zodat hij daar zeker geen last meer van zou hebben. Hij werd geschat op 6 jaar, maar het grote rondcrossen en spelen is aan hem zeker niet meer besteed. Hij geniet van rust, veel slapen, eten en knuffelen. Een echte knuffelbeer dus. Hij ligt niet graag op je schoot te slapen want het is een zelfstandige kater, maar wel in de buurt zodat hij het overzicht behoudt. Een andere kat als huisgenoot mag zeker, maar best geen al te speelse kat, want dat is voor hem niet meer nodig. Maar als ze samen met hem een dutje willen doen dan is dat voor hem zeker goed. Hondjes vindt hij minder leuk. Aangezien hij toch een tijdje nodig gehad heeft om te wennen aan zijn opvanggezin, moet een potentieel adoptiegezin hiermee rekening houden dat de adoptie voor hem opnieuw stressvol zal zijn. Natvoer zal hem helpen ontdooien, maar naar nieuwe mensen en situaties toe zal hij nog altijd afwachtend reageren. Alle katten zijn ontvlooid, ontwormd, gevaccineerd, gesteriliseerd, gechipt en geregistreerd. Otto is getest op aids en leucose en testte negatief op beide. We vragen de gebruikelijke tussenkomst in de dierenartskosten van 210 euro per kat omdat beide vaccinaties al gegeven werden. Adoptieprocedure: Er wordt eerst telefonisch nagegaan of er een goede match kan zijn tussen jou en de kat, nadien kan een afspraak gemaakt worden voor een bezoekje zodat jullie met elkaar kunnen kennis maken. Bij adoptie wordt een adoptiecontract getekend en de adoptiebijdrage wordt betaald bij het afhalen van de kat. Iedere kat vertrekt met een Europees paspoort.
