Karakter en achtergrond van de kat: Réginald zoekt een rustige thuis met geduldige mensen Réginald is een bijzondere kater met een eigen karakter. Hij is nieuwsgierig, aanwezig en graag in de buurt, maar hij bepaalt het liefst zelf het tempo. Hij komt je begroeten door rond je benen te draaien, geeft graag een kopje en vindt aaitjes bovenop zijn hoofd fijn. Lang hoeft dat voor hem niet te duren: Réginald geeft duidelijk aan wanneer het genoeg is. Hij is voorlopig geen grote schootkat of knuffelbeer. Hij komt nog niet gezellig bij je liggen, maar hij zoekt wel graag je gezelschap op. Wanneer je in de zetel zit, wandelt hij rond je om alles goed te bekijken. Hij observeert veel, is graag betrokken vanop een veilige afstand en laat stap voor stap meer van zichzelf zien. Réginald speelt graag met zijn muisje en kan op actieve momenten vrolijk rondrennen. Hij heeft dus zeker nog een speelse kant. Tegelijk heeft hij nood aan mensen die zijn grenzen respecteren. Wanneer hij genoeg heeft van strelen, kan hij eens met zijn pootje zwaaien, je aantikken of doen alsof hij wil happen. Echt krabben of bijten doet hij niet; het is vooral zijn manier om duidelijk te maken: “voor mij is het nu genoeg.” Réginald dook plots op in de tuin van een dame die hem eten gaf. Hij was niet gechipt of gecastreerd en had enkele kwetsuren aan zijn gezichtje, vermoedelijk door gevechten met andere katers. In ons opvanggezin werd hij onder begeleiding van de dierenarts verzorgd. Hij kreeg ook gebitsverzorging: één kies en twee snijtanden werden verwijderd, waardoor zijn gebit nu opnieuw gezond is. Op een foto was lichte heupdysplasie te zien. Daarvoor krijgt hij één keer per dag een voedingssupplement, Cartimax mini, ter ondersteuning van zijn gewrichten. Hij neemt dit momenteel heel gemakkelijk in met een liquid snack en lijkt er geen last van te hebben. Hij speelt, beweegt vlot en rent op zijn actieve momenten vrolijk rond. Réginald maakt soms geluidjes wanneer hij zich wast of slaapt. Dat komt door zijn lage neusbrug en is helemaal oké. Zijn longen werden nagekeken op foto en die zagen er goed uit. Voor Réginald zoeken we een rustige thuis bij mensen die niet meteen een knuffelkat verwachten, maar wel openstaan voor een lieve, eigenzinnige kater die op zijn manier contact zoekt. Met geduld, respect en tijd kan hij verder openbloeien Alle katten zijn ontvlooid, ontwormd, gevaccineerd, gesteriliseerd, gechipt en geregistreerd. Réginald is getest op aids en leucose en testte negatief op beide. Voor seniors vragen we een verminderde bijdrage van €120. Adoptieprocedure: Er wordt eerst telefonisch nagegaan of er een goede match kan zijn tussen jou en de kat, nadien kan een afspraak gemaakt worden voor een bezoekje zodat jullie met elkaar kunnen kennis maken. Bij adoptie wordt een adoptiecontract getekend en de adoptiebijdrage wordt betaald bij het afhalen van de kat. Iedere kat vertrekt met een Europees paspoort.
