Milo

Male · Puppy · 7 months

Milo is playful, emotional, he seeks your attention and loves cuddling. He can already walk on a leash. He is a mix with a dachshund. Kind people found his dachshund mother when she was pregnant and brought her to a shelter. The mother gave birth to five puppies: Sonic, Sunny, Milo, Oscar, and Cody. The five puppies have lived in the shelter since birth. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, microchip, rabies, European passport, sterilization/castration (unless explicitly indicated otherwise in the characteristics), 4D test SNAP test (negative, unless indicated otherwise in Bio), travel to the Netherlands + mandatory administrative procedures. In addition, we arrange the import of the dogs, so adopters do not need to apply for an UBN number at the RvO. The dogs will receive a safety harness to take home. This harness will be returned to the foundation after use, so it can be used for the next dog. We charge 22.50 euros for the harness. The harness can be used for two months.

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a medium-sized puppy dog waiting at Stichting Zilver in —.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Zilver handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Zilver will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Zilver early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
