GRZEŚ (MILUŚ) OK. 5 YEARS OLD 616093903154094 (100/26) VACCINATIONS: YES BOXER: B 8 At the shelter since April 29, 2026. Hi, my name is Grześ. Once upon a time, they used to call me Miluś—and I’ve got to admit, I really am a very sweet dog. It’s just that I don’t respond at all to that name. I much prefer my new one, because it’s with this name that I’ve started a whole new life. I’ve left behind years spent isolated from the world, locked up on a property where I could never poke my curious nose outside. At Promyk, I’ve undergone a real transformation. From a cautious, insecure, and frightened dog—a lump of matted fur—I’ve become a cheerful little pup who happily gets to know new canine friends and eagerly makes contact with people. Sometimes I even greet other dogs a bit too enthusiastically—but believe me, it’s purely out of friendliness and an enormous desire to say “hello!” to everyone. I love walks, especially group ones—when there’s a bigger pack of dogs and humans together. I feel right at home in dog company, so I’d have no problem living in a home with another dog. I walk nicely on a leash, though there’s one thing I really don’t like—when the leash gets tangled around my paws or touches my tail. Then I get a bit upset and need a moment to regain my confidence. I tolerate grooming procedures calmly, and my beauty really deserves some care. My lovely, chocolate-colored coat makes me look a bit like a chocolate bar—and that’s exactly where my new name comes from. I’m also used to wearing a muzzle, so visiting the vet or traveling by public transport isn’t a problem for me. I have a gentle nature and really appreciate having my guardian’s support. On walks, I like to take a little break for some affection—one stroke, a warm look, and a few kind words are enough to give me comfort. These small gestures remind me that I’m safe and important. I’m an incorrigible optimist. I can find joy in the smallest things and look forward to the future with confidence. I believe that everything difficult is already behind me. Now, all I dream about is finding my person—the one who’ll be by my side every single day, pet me when I need it, and show me the world on our joint adventures. Maybe I’m waiting for you, and you’ll invite me into your home? People interested in adopting Grześ are welcome to contact the shelter at 58/522 37 80 (daily during office hours).

Uwielbiam spacery, a najbardziej te grupowe – większa psio-ludzką paczką. Podczas spacerów lubię podejść po chwilę czułości – jeden głask, ciepłe spojrzenie i kilka dobrych słów wystarczą by dodać mi otuchy.

About Grześ (Miluś)

What life with Grześ (Miluś) looks like

Grześ (Miluś) is a adult dog waiting at Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk in Gdansk.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grześ (Miluś), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grześ (Miluś)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grześ (Miluś) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grześ (Miluś) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grześ (Miluś) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grześ (Miluś) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grześ (Miluś) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
