Adopt Minka

Mixed Breed · Female

Unbelievable that this cute and awesome beautiful girl hasn't found her own little home yet. Will you help share her? Minka currently lives in Duizel and would love to have her own kennel. She is a beautiful 5-year-old mixed breed Labrador x Golden Retriever. She gets along well with other dogs. Minka didn't have the best start in life, as she was meant to be a breeding female, but thankfully that didn't happen. After her first litter, she had to make way. Luckily, she then met the right kind and loving people who wanted to teach her the ins and outs of being a dog. It's going well. Sometimes she can be a bit unsure, but once she gets to know and trusts you, she becomes your best little friend. She'd rather spend the whole day carrying her knick-knacks around, and it's a sight to behold. Minka still has a few things to learn, but she learns quickly and finds everything fun and cozy. Finally, her life has begun. Now, she just needs a loving owner who will give her the time and space to grow. If there's another dog present, that would be great. She can learn that too. Have you seen her beautiful eyes? Her character is even more beautiful. Will you help her find her own little home? For more info, send us a PB, and we'll make sure you get in touch. Minka is eagerly waiting for you! Call: 06-50800245 or fill out the form:

Eindelijk is haar leven begonnen.

About Minka

What life with Minka looks like

Minka is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Huis voor Dieren in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Huis voor Dieren handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Huis voor Dieren will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Huis voor Dieren early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
