Miro

Male · Senior · 10 years

Very affectionate, he loves cuddles and never gets tired of human company. Miro can be a bit rough in his displays of affection, especially when he's happy: he sometimes jumps on the face to give a kiss... a bit strong! He is also very playful, curious, and has kept a young dog's temperament. On walks, he walks well on a leash, but may pull if he meets another dog or smells something interesting. He is sociable with females and neutered males, but intact males should be avoided. He lived with a cat in his previous home, but beware: Miro is rather rough in his interactions. Very food-motivated, he may try to steal food or toys from other dogs, which can cause tensions. When off-leash, he stays close to us, unless he detects a "good smell" to explore! He knows "sit," "lie down," "wait," and is beginning to respond well to recall. He loves being taken care of. He grew up with children, but his enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit too much for very young kids. Miro is looking for a gentle, loving and present family who will offer him a beautiful retirement full of love, tenderness and companionship. This playful senior still has so much to give.

FR·Show original

About Miro

What life with Miro looks like

Miro is a large senior dog waiting at Sans Collier Provence in France.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sans Collier Provence handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sans Collier Provence will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sans Collier Provence early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
