Miss Maggie

Belgian Malinois · Female · Senior · 9 years

Gorgeous 9 year old Maggie is ready to go to a new home. She is well trained, knows sit, down, stay and great recall in secure paddocks. Maggie travels well in a crate or in the back of the car, she is excellent for her health checks with our vets on site and enjoys company of our staff and volunteers. Maggie is a very food orientated and will do anything for her next treat. This makes training very fun and desirable for her, someone who enjoys training would adore this intelligent girl. She would love a home with a secure garden for off lead play and practising her wonderful recall but equally would be fine with a yard or small garden providing her new owner is a keen walker able to give her enough exercise. She is looking to be rehomed as the only pet. Maggie is foody, playful and has a very sweet personality. Please apply today if you feel she may be suitable providing you meet the rehoming criteria.

About Miss Maggie

What life with Miss Maggie looks like

Miss Maggie is a small senior belgian malinois dog waiting at Oak Tree Animals in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miss Maggie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miss Maggie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oak Tree Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miss Maggie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miss Maggie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oak Tree Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miss Maggie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miss Maggie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oak Tree Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miss Maggie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
