Mitchie

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Hi, I am Mitchie. I was abandoned at the edge of the hills together with others, without our mommy. We were tiny and alone, but luckily kind people found us in time and brought us to safety at The Dog Rose Shelter, where we could finally feel protected and cared for. I am an adorable boy who will grow into a medium-sized dog. I am friendly, gentle and full of puppy charm. I get along well with kids, dogs and cats and enjoy being around people. My confidence is 9/10 I am curious, playful and ready to discover the world. I cannot wait to find my forever home.

About Mitchie

What life with Mitchie looks like

Mitchie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at The Dog Rose) in Dogrose.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mitchie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mitchie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Dog Rose) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mitchie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mitchie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Dog Rose) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mitchie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mitchie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Dog Rose) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mitchie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
