Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Mokka came into a family as a small puppy - from a cute puppy, she became a large, energetic, charming and kind female dog. Unfortunately, it became clear over time that her previous environment and living situation were not optimal for her, despite professional support. So Mokka eventually came to a boarding facility, where she quickly integrated into the existing dog pack and showed what she was capable of. Mokka is a balanced and calm female dog who longs for people who understand her nature and can provide the security and structure she needs. Visually, she could be a mix of a Labrador and a Cane Corso - accordingly, she has both sensitive and alert traits. Overall, Mokka is rather uncertain. In unfamiliar situations, especially outside or when meeting strangers, she sometimes reacts vigorously and impulsively. However, once she has gained trust - especially with men - she shows herself to be quiet, affectionate and very attached in a domestic environment. For Mokka, we are looking for experienced dog people with a confident and calm demeanor. People who can read her body language, who meet her with patience and give her the necessary orientation. A low-stimulation, rural home with little hustle would be ideal for her, as she feels much more comfortable there and can relax better. With familiar people and known dogs, Mokka really comes to life outside. Then she shows her cheerful, carefree side and enjoys walks and activities together very much. Mokka is not an easy dog for beginners - but those who are willing to open up to her will get a loyal companion with great potential. She wants to learn a lot more and is looking for people who give her time to build trust and arrive at her own pace. After a positive pre-check, Mokka can be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and come to her new home with an adoption fee and EU pet passport. We would also be very happy about a suitable foster home. Have you fallen for our "Black Beauty" and have a warm basket and a place in your heart free? Then feel free to contact us! We would like to thank the godmother Monika V., who gave Mokka her beautiful name and thus her own identity. Date: 18.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 18.05.2026

About Mokka

What life with Mokka looks like

Mokka is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mokka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mokka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mokka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mokka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mokka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mokka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mokka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
