Nala

Cocker Spaniel · Female · Adult · 5 years

Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? Potentially, once settled Nala has been left for a few hours in her history and was described as calm, however this was in the company of other dogs. We have found Nala to be a bit distressed when left in her kennel on site. Due to this we would recommend building up her home alone time from scratch, once she has had time to settle in. Do I have any medical conditions? Existing conditions Nala has a historic medical condition, namely Ophthalmic (eye) abnormality, and has upcoming dental treatment at Woodgreen. These will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? Yes, conditionally - A bold, dog savvy cat following correct introductions. Can I live with small pets? Yes, conditionally - Securely house and kept separately. Additional information Nala is quite nervous of other dogs, she has shown some interest in greeting them but then wants to wander off to do her own thing. There is potential for her to share walks with other dogs in the future, provided they were calm and gave her the space she wanted. Nala has shown much more interest in the company of people! Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Any children in Nala’s new home would need to be aged 8 years +. She has previously lived with children and was described as playful and affectionate. Nala needs a go slow approach, but once she has warmed up she is the most loving girl who doesn’t have much sense of personal space! What type of environment would suit me? Nala will need her own private, secure garden as she loves to sniff around and often has her nose to the ground. About Nala Meet Nala, a gorgeous, affectionate spaniel who simply adores her people! This lovely girl is happiest when she’s by your side, whether that’s enjoying cuddles on the sofa, carrying her favourite soft toy around, or exploring the garden with her nose to the ground. Nala can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a gentle approach she soon warms up and becomes her wonderfully affectionate self. Nala enjoys her walks, particularly having plenty of time to sniff and explore, and once she has settled into her new home and built a bond with her family, she should be able to enjoy off-lead adventures thanks to her good recall. Nala is looking for a loving home where she can be someone’s very special girl and enjoy plenty of companionship, cuddles and outdoor adventures.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a small adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
