Nala Ratonero

Bodeguero Andaluz · Female · Senior · 12 years

(With Video) Nala lived in Sevilla with a family where significant interpersonal problems arose, leading to her loss of a home. Fortunately, Nala found a safe haven at the PROA animal shelter. Nala shows herself to be shy and cautious at the animal shelter. She is compatible with fellow animals. She currently does not fully trust humans and needs to build trust. She loves cuddles very much, but is often too insecure to enjoy them. We assume that Nala experienced very turbulent times in her home. What Nala now needs is a home without chaos, with people who can offer her a varied but also regulated life. Of course, with lots of love and affection, but also with sovereignty, calmness, and consistency. Not overly joyous – tearfully sad, but a fundamentally calm, structured, and also cheerful way of life so that Nala learns to feel security and security as a matter of course and finds back to the Bodeguero's own joy and zest for life. During the intake examination, it was determined that Nala has a mild patellar luxation in both hind legs. This is not uncommon in small dogs and is often not treatment-worthy. Even for Nala, this does not currently cause any problems; she walks evenly on all four legs. A proper muscle build-up and regular and mostly even movement will help Nala to live symptom-free for a long time. Born: 06.03.2024, Height: approx. 40 cm, Weight: approx. 8.3 kg, Personality: shy, cautious, friendly, active, Compatible with fellow animals: yes, Compatible with cats: Nala currently has more fear of cats, Time at the animal shelter: since February 2026 Nala travels microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and tested for all Mediterranean diseases. A blood test of organ values will also be performed before travel arrangements. Nala will be rehomed with a safety harness. About Nala Ratonero

What life with Nala Ratonero looks like

Nala Ratonero is a large senior bodeguero andaluz dog waiting at TS Fellwechsel e.V. in Varel /nur Vereinssitz, kein Tierheim vor Ort.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala Ratonero, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala Ratonero?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TS Fellwechsel e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala Ratonero on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala Ratonero if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TS Fellwechsel e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala Ratonero already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala Ratonero isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TS Fellwechsel e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala Ratonero and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
