Niko und Vita

British Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 1 month

We are Vita & Niko! We are two kittens and are looking for our forever home together. We were found independently but met at our foster home and let's just say we really like each other. We match well in temperament, play together, cuddle and make sure we never get bored. We were both born in mid-August and were found when we were about 34 weeks old. Since we were small, we had to be bottle-fed initially. This means we are used to humans and are accordingly very people-oriented, affectionate and cuddly. I am Niko, the little cat of the two of us. Play? Always happy! Cuddle? Of course! And if I have something to say, you can hear me too, I have a pretty loud voice. I am a playful, affectionate little fellow and look forward to people who have as much joy in me as I have in them. And I am Vita, a cat girl with quite a lot of character. I play just as much as Niko and love cuddling with my humans. However, when playing, I can sometimes get a bit wild and don't really know my limits yet. I need people who understand that I can get a bit rough when playing and show me patiently where my limits are. We found each other at our foster home and understand each other so well that we absolutely want to spend our lives together. We would like to live together in a flat. A balcony would of course be a dream, there we could observe the world together and let the sun shine on our fur. To ensure our safety, the balcony and windows must be secured with a suitable cat net. If you rent, please already have a written confirmation from your landlord for cat keeping. This can ensure from the start that there is nothing in the way of our joint move-in. And something else is important: For our vaccinations and later our sterilization, we still have to come to the animal shelter once. That's why we are looking for a home in Stuttgart or the surrounding area, so that our humans can bring us there without any problems. If you want to get to know us, please write to us and tell us a bit about yourself: Who are you? How do you live? What does our future home look like? Is there a balcony? Do you already have experience with cats? We are very excited to get to know our future people. See you soon, Niko & Vita 🐾❤️

DE·Show original

About Niko und Vita

What life with Niko und Vita looks like

Niko und Vita is a small puppy/kitten british shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Stuttgart in Stuttgart.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Niko und Vita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Niko und Vita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stuttgart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Niko und Vita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Niko und Vita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stuttgart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Niko und Vita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Niko und Vita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stuttgart early rather than rehoming privately; they know Niko und Vita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
