adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ori can go straight to his new home! His story: Pure puppy luck – Ori is looking for a loving home! Just 4 months old, full of joy and explorer spirit – but their world is small and dreary. No soft dog bed, no nature walks, no familiar hand that gives them security. After Ori and his siblings Selma, Gemma, Ajoy, Marielle, Lordi, Romy, Duano, Fina, and Philippa were simply abandoned together with their mother, they live in a Romanian shelter, a place that unfortunately offers them neither warmth nor a future perspective. But that must not be their destiny! These 10-fur bandits have so much love to give and already show that they are wonderful mini-personalities. Each of them brings their own little character – but all of them are approachable, lively, and simply irresistibly cute and friendly. They love to play, are easily picked up, and munch happily from your hand, soaking up every bit of attention. With other dogs, they are very social, but they have not yet met any cats. His beautiful black fur, the white chest spot, and the hint of a beard make Ori something special. He is likely to be medium-sized and weigh around 20–25 kg. His mother is a Labrador mix, which has already given him great genes, as Labradors are known for their cheerful, clingy nature and their great adaptability – they are true family dogs that like to work with their people. What traits the father has passed on? That remains a surprise and makes mixed breeds like him so special! For our Ori, we are looking for people who are aware of the responsibility of a puppy and are ready to guide him through his growth with lots of time, patience, and understanding. You should teach him everything he needs for his life and integrate him into your everyday life. Also, the upcoming puberty must be tackled together. Rassebedingt, Ori fits perfectly for active people who value him as a loyal and cherished part of their family and can give him an adventurous life by their side. He will need both physical and mental challenges – dog sports could be a great way to offer him additional variety and fun. But the cuddly moments must not be missing either, because cuddles are his biggest win. After a positive age-related check, he is still not neutered. So small and already so lovable – who will give Ori a home? A foster home would also be a valuable support. Thank you, Hannah, for taking on his namesship. As of: 08.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 08.04.2025

About Ori

What life with Ori looks like

Ori is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
