Orzysz

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 1 month

Orzysz isn't a dog who will run to you with a wagging tail on the first meeting. This is a one-year-old, 16-kilogram child, whose world is mainly associated with uncertainty. He arrived with his siblings, but he bears the heaviest burden of "past" that he wishes to forget. 💔 👤 What is Orzysz like? • Age: approx. 1 year (his whole life before this!) • Weight: approx. 16 kg (ideal size for a block and a home) • Temperament: a fearful, withdrawn dog, but with a huge potential. • Motivation: He loves treats! It's through his stomach that the shortest path leads to his wounded trust. 🏠 What does he need? The current shelter reality is overwhelming for him. Orzysz urgently needs a temporary home or, ideally, a permanent home that will become his safe haven. • Walks: This is the biggest challenge for him. At the moment, the fear of open space paralyzes him. We are looking for someone who does not expect long walks from the first day but will gradually show him that the grass doesn't bite, and a leash is a connection to a friend, not a restriction. 🐕‍🦺 • Patience: Orzysz needs a caregiver who understands that "time" is a key word for him. 💡 Word from us: Orzysz is a "diamond in the ashes." Under the layer of fear lies a young, wise dog who simply didn't get a chance at a normal childhood. We see how much he wants to trust, but fear is still stronger. Why adopt? Adopting a fearful dog is an incredible journey. The first wagging tail upon seeing you, the first approach for petting, or the first brave step on a walk taste better than any other success. Orzysz doesn't need a training expert; he needs someone who simply won't let him down. 📍 Orzysz is located in the Canis Homeless Animals Animal Shelter in Kruszewie – approximately 100 km from Warsaw and Białystok. 🦴 He can be visited on weekends at the shelter!

Orzysz nie jest psem, który przybiegnie do Ciebie z merdającym ogonem na pierwszym spotkaniu. To roczny, niespełna 16-kilogramowy dzieciak, któremu świat kojarzy się głównie z niepewnością. Trafił do nas wraz z rodzeństwem, jednak to on najbardziej niesie na swoich barkach ciężar „przeszłości”, o której chciałby zapomnieć. 💔 👤 Jaki jest Orzysz? • Wiek: ok. 1 rok (całe życie przed nim!) • Waga: ok. 16 kg (idealny rozmiar do bloku i do domu) • Charakter: Psiak lękowy, wycofany, ale z ogromnym potencjałem. • Motywacja: Kocha smaczki! To przez żołądek prowadzi najkrótsza droga do jego zranionej ufności. 🏠 Czego potrzebuje? Obecnie schroniskowa rzeczywistość go przytłacza. Dlaczego warto? Adopcja psa lękowego to niesamowita podróż. 🦴 Można go odwiedzić w każdy weekend w godzinach ! 📞 Kontakt w sprawie adopcji lub więcej informacji: 502 750 530 Nie możesz adoptować? About Orzysz

What life with Orzysz looks like

Orzysz is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Orzysz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Orzysz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Orzysz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Orzysz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Orzysz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Orzysz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Orzysz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
