Adopt Paras - der Katzenversteher

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

For interest please update 5/2026: Parasz really likes cats and the people do too. The big friendly Parasz, with an estimated birthdate of December 2022, wandered the streets for several days in November 2023 until the people who lived there and didn't know him called the animal shelter in Szeged and allowed them to pick him up. Parasz was most likely abandoned, as no one had ever seen the friendly fellow before. At the animal shelter, he shows a strong people-oriented behavior and can already walk well on a leash. He always looks forward to the people who engage with him. He also has no issues with other dogs – whether male or female. Parasz is not an excitable dog – he is now eagerly waiting for his family, whom he wants to please. Maybe he is a Labrador-German Shepherd mix, but we cannot say for sure. A cat test can be done if desired.

About Paras - der Katzenversteher

What life with Paras - der Katzenversteher looks like

Paras - der Katzenversteher is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Hallein in Hallein.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paras - der Katzenversteher, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paras - der Katzenversteher?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Hallein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paras - der Katzenversteher on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paras - der Katzenversteher if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Hallein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paras - der Katzenversteher already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paras - der Katzenversteher isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Hallein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paras - der Katzenversteher and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
