Peach

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Hi, my name is Peach, I’m 2 years old, and I’m a little lady looking for a new home. At the moment, I’m enjoying life in my foster home. Most of my daytime hours are spent tucked away underneath the pillows on the bed, where everything feels lovely and safe. My foster mum knows where to find me, and I’m happy to let her give me some gentle strokes while I’m snuggled away. I might be a little shy, but I do appreciate a kind human who understands that sometimes a girl just wants to enjoy her own little world. Then, around 7pm, the magic begins because it’s dinner time! And suddenly, I'm ready to emerge from my pillow kingdom and begin my evening adventures. I’m rather like Elf on the Shelf, except I’m Peach on the Perch! One minute I’m sitting on a chair underneath the dining table, the next I’ve relocated to a windowsill, and before you know it, I’m perched on the blanket box at the top of the stairs. I do enjoy finding different places to sit and observe the world around me. A girl needs a change of scenery now and then, after all! When night falls, my playful side comes out, too. I like to dive into the toy box and select three or four toys for my play session. Once I’ve had my fun, I’ll find myself a nice spot to settle down for the night. When I'm tucked up under the pillow having a cat nap, I dream of finding a forever home of my very own. I think I’d be happiest somewhere quiet and peaceful, with humans who are happy to let me settle in at my own pace. I’ll need understanding humans who won’t expect me to become a confident, sociable lap cat overnight. I like having my own safe spaces, and I need the freedom to come out and explore when I feel ready. With patience, kindness, and a calm environment, I can enjoy life in my own special way.So, what do you say? Could you be the one to give this little Peach her forever home? About Peach

What life with Peach looks like

Peach is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peach, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peach?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peach on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peach if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Peach already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peach isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peach and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
