Pekinesen-Dame Bety

Female · Adult · 8 years

Our sweet Bety, a Pekingese lady, is looking for a loving home. Bety was born in 2018 and came to the shelter as a stray. Initially, she is rather shy and therefore needs a lot of time, patience, and understanding to gain trust. Once she has built trust, she shows her very special character: Bety is very affectionate, cuddly, and enjoys attention and closeness. Therefore, we wish for Bety people who have a lot of time for her and can give her a lot of love and attention. Also, a quiet, loving older couple who would like to have a loyal little companion by their side and spend a lot of time with her would be wonderful for Bety. With other dogs, Bety decides on sympathy. For her new home, we still wish for a place without fellow dogs, so Bety can enjoy the undivided attention of her people and finally be her own little princess. Unfortunately, Bety has a heart defect and needs regular medication for it. Fortunately, the medication is unproblematic for her, as she can easily get her medication through her food. Bety is looking for a quiet, patient, and loving home, where she can arrive at her own pace and get a lot of closeness, security, and comfort. About Pekinesen-Dame Bety

What life with Pekinesen-Dame Bety looks like

Pekinesen-Dame Bety is a adult dog waiting at Tierheim Salzburg in Salzburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pekinesen-Dame Bety, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pekinesen-Dame Bety?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Salzburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pekinesen-Dame Bety on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pekinesen-Dame Bety if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Salzburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pekinesen-Dame Bety already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pekinesen-Dame Bety isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Salzburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pekinesen-Dame Bety and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
