Adopt Peyton

Dachshund · Male · Puppy

The sweet Dackel mixed breed named Peyton was given up by his previous owner at our Hungarian partner shelter and is now eagerly waiting for his heart people. Peyton is a very special treasure: he is a bit more sensitive, but shows endless gratitude for every kind word. Once he wins your trust, you have found a lifelong friend! Peyton then can hardly be stopped. He follows his people like a shadow, loves cuddles, and is always ready to give kisses. On the leash, the little man already runs quite well. He gets along great with other dogs – but silk paws shouldn’t live in his new home; he would surely chase them. For Peyton, we are looking for a loving family, preferably with slightly older children who can show the sweet one how beautiful the world can be by their side. A playful dog already present in the family is welcome, but not necessary. Peyton would certainly also appreciate the full attention of his people. The sweet Peyton is, of course, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has been examined by a vet. He also has an EU pet passport. Like every dog from an animal shelter, Peyton needs time, patience, and a loving welcome in his new home. New impressions, routines, and bonds must grow in peace. Whoever is ready to walk this path with Peyton will be rewarded with a very special connection! The handover could take place on June 27, 2026, in Berlin or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with him and want to give him a – forever home. Short info: Name: Peyton Breed: Mixed Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Neutered Age: July 28, 2020 Shoulder height: approx. 25-30 cm

About Peyton

What life with Peyton looks like

Peyton is a puppy/kitten dachshund dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peyton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peyton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peyton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peyton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peyton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peyton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peyton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
