Adopt Pieszczoch

Mixed Breed · Male

Pieszczoch is a dog whose name he still has to rediscover. He arrived at the foundation from an intervention near Siedlce, where he spent his life on a chain, and his shelter was a car. Despite such a painful past, this mature guy hasn't lost the desire to explore the world and slowly opens up to a relationship with a person. Currently, Pieszczoch is learning life from scratch. Although he spent years in isolation, he maintains cleanliness well and copes very well with solitude - tests have shown that he can rest politely, doesn't vocalize and doesn't destroy things. On walks he is calm, isn't afraid of cars and doesn't start fights with passing dogs, although he clearly prefers the company of female dog. Although he can be distant at first, every day he becomes more emotional - he starts to ask for cuddles and is more willing to make eye contact with the caregiver. We are looking for a home for Pieszczoch that will understand his history and not put pressure on him. He is a dog for a patient person who will show him that life next to a human can be safe and interesting. Best suited as a single dog or in the company of a stable female dog, preferably in a house without cats. Pieszczoch is a loyal companion who simply wants to be by your side and enjoy the freedom he has long been deprived of. — METADATA — 🧮 Age: 11/2021 🚻 Gender: male 🐾 Size: 21.5kg 🏀 Activity: moderate ❤️ Neutering: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes 📍 Location:

About Pieszczoch

What life with Pieszczoch looks like

Pieszczoch is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pieszczoch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pieszczoch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pieszczoch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pieszczoch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pieszczoch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pieszczoch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pieszczoch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
