Rebecca

Cocker Spaniel Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 5 years

22-10-26 Rebecca is a very sweet but scared girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is quite shy, but we can approach her slowly and put a lead on her. Rebecca is a little hand-shy, although she will accept gentle fuss and handling. She is still unsure of us and will need time to feel comfortable, but we hope that with patience and kindness, she will gradually come out of her shell. However, the more she gets to know you, she feels more comfortable with you and will come up to you for a gentle fuss. We believe that Rebecca will need another kind and confident dog in her new home, as this dog will be a much-needed support system for her. Having a reassuring canine companion by her side should help her feel more secure as she settles in and gets used to her new surroundings. She will need a home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeders, and can live with older-dog savvy children who are sensible and allow her time to settle in. As Rebecca has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training and the other basics of home life. She has taken to lead walking quite well, so once she is settled in, we think she would enjoy one or two walks around the local area with her resident dog. Rebecca is a sweet girl who is still finding her confidence, and we hope that with the support of a kind canine companion and a patient family, she will slowly begin to feel more comfortable and enjoy all the happiness and comforts that a loving home can bring. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Rebecca

What life with Rebecca looks like

Rebecca is an adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rebecca, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rebecca?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rebecca on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rebecca if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rebecca already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rebecca isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rebecca and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
