Rikki

Mixed Breed · Female · Baby · 3 months

Rikki Tier-ID: 1322 | In the shelter since June 11, 2026 Rikki is a little kitten who can only be rehomed with another kitten or an already existing cat. She will soon be ready for her microchip and first vaccination. Socialization is essential for kittens and goes well beyond the "12-week" mark. Kittens should definitely be rehomed in pairs, as they are social animals that need plenty of attention and companionship. Growing up and playing together strengthens their bond and provides more stimulation, which helps prevent boredom and behavioral problems. Moreover, they feel less lonely and more secure, significantly enhancing their overall well-being. This also makes it easier for them to adjust to a new home, as they support each other. Additionally, learning the language of cats is crucial—especially for future outdoor cats. When cats understand their body language and signals, they can communicate more effectively and avoid conflicts with other animals or people. This helps them move more confidently in the wild and better assess their surroundings. A good understanding of cat language is therefore an important foundation for ensuring harmonious coexistence outdoors. Future owners commit to having kittens from our animal welfare association spayed or neutered at the appropriate age (females at 6 months, males at 8 months). Back

About Rikki

What life with Rikki looks like

Rikki is a puppy/kitten mixed breed animal waiting at Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Rikki far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rikki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rikki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rikki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rikki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rikki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rikki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rikki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
