Rolo

Chihuahua · Male · Young · 2 years

20-10-26 Rolo is the most gorgeous little chap who has come to us from a breeder and is a confident, friendly boy with a wonderful personality! He loves to give kisses and is playful, outgoing and just so much fun to be around. He really is a happy little chap who is ready to start his new adventure and find his forever home. Rolo will need to be an only dog in his forever home, as he prefers all of the attention on himself, and can get a bit grumpy if other dogs are too boisterous or in his space. He walks well on a lead and would love to join his new family on plenty of adventures once he has settled in. Rolo has never lived in a home before, so his adopters will need to be kind and patient as he learns all about house training and the routines that come with family life. With a little guidance and lots of love, we are sure he will soon settle into his new surroundings and make himself right at home. He can live with older, dog-savvy children who are understanding while he settles in. Rolo is such a lovely little boy who has so much love and happiness to bring to his forever family. We think he will make a wonderful companion and hope he won't have to wait long to find the special home he deserves! Our vet has noted that he has a Grade 2 luxating patella in his left hind leg, this may improve with gentle exercise as he builds muscle, but it's something his adopter and their vet will need to monitor going forward.

About Rolo

What life with Rolo looks like

Rolo is a young adult chihuahua dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rolo?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rolo if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rolo isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
