Romeo, a young French Bulldog mix, is looking for a home with someone who has experience with dogs. Romeo is friendly and very attached to his owner, but he still needs a lot of basic training. He gets along with other dogs, including larger ones, but has not been around cats. Romeo's biggest challenge is being alone, and he barks quite loudly and causes damage when left alone, so alone training should be started from the beginning with small steps. It would be desirable for the new home to have experience in training away separation anxiety. Having another dog in the home did not help with the loneliness, and Romeo may also get restless when his owner leaves, making it difficult for him to calm down when alone. He can travel by car without getting sick, but may bark a bit at the beginning of the trip, but calms down after a while. He walks nicely on walks, but may bark at some dogs, but stops and continues on command. He is used to school-age children, but will not be placed in a family with very young children to avoid potential problems. Romeo is a lively and playful boy who may unintentionally hurt smaller children. Both of Romeo's eyes have a cherry eye, which will be operated on by the association soon. Romeo is looking for a home in a detached house in a quiet residential area, ideally with a fully fenced yard where he can freely exercise. The new home should commit to training away separation anxiety, which requires time and patience. A home where people are at home a lot would also be the best option for Romeo, so he could practice being alone in small time intervals.
