Romeo is een van de Solca Pups. Hij is vrolijk en speels. Twee zusjes, middelgrote hondjes die precies op elkaar lijken, hadden allebei een nestje pups en woonden in de tuin van een onbewoond huis in Solca. De buren klaagden over het lawaai dat de puppies maakten, en Elisa en haar team hebben de moeders en hun 11 pups opgehaald en in veiligheid gebracht. De moeders waren mensenschuw, ze leefden al te lang op straat en zouden nooit kunnen wennen in een huis. Ze zijn allebei gesteriliseerd en toen hun pups oud genoeg waren, zijn de moeders weer vrijgelaten in hun eigen omgeving. Hoewel onze rescuers het liefst alle honden van straat halen, moeten ze ook keuzes maken. Deze teefjes redden zich prima buiten, ze blijven bij mensen uit de buurt en jagen op muizen en ratten. Ze waren vreselijk ongelukkig in de shelter. Hun puppies zijn zo jong gevonden dat ze gelukkig goed gewend zijn aan mensen, voor hen is een huisleven wel weggelegd. Alles wat ze nu nodig hebben, is een leuke adoptant! Romeo is nu oud genoeg en helemaal klaar voor een enkele reis naar Nederland en kan, als we een goede plek hebben gevonden, mee met het eerstvolgende transport. Zijn Rabiës enting is geldig. Natuurlijk zijn ook alle andere inentingen in orde. Daarnaast is zijn gezondheid onderzocht en heeft hij een geregistreerde chip en een paspoort. Romeo is niet gecastreerd. Vanwege de invloed op ontwikkeling en gedrag raden wij castratie - zeker voorlopig - ook niet aan.
