Rosa

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

This beautiful gentle lady, approximately 2 years old, came to us as a stray cat. Now that no one has come to take her home, it's time to find her a new home. This young flower has everything you're looking for in a cat. She's a bit shy at first but loves to be petted once she gets to know you. She's quite calm and keeps to herself at our shelter, which may be due to the busy space she's in. She keeps her distance from the other cats and focuses mainly on the people who come in. You can see her looking at you through the window, eagerly waiting for you. Rosa will thrive in a quiet environment. Children or a desire for children don't suit her, as she would only withdraw and become stressed, which is not what we want for her. Other pets are too loud for her as well. Finally, we think Rosa would love to have a garden to enjoy the sun. Do you have everything at home to let this little rose bloom? Come and visit her! Rosa is definitely looking forward to you.

About Rosa

What life with Rosa looks like

Rosa is a large young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenasiel Utrecht in Utrecht.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Utrecht handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Utrecht will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Utrecht early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
