Rossi

Jack Russell Terrier · Male · Adult · 6 years

Rossi is lovely boy who adores a bum scratch once he is comfortable, he is very playful and loves a squeaky ball. Rossi very much is a typical terrier with plenty of character and sass! He is fully house trained and has came on very well with his training here at the centre, he loves sausage and cheese as a reward which will be a great motivator for any ongoing training. Rossi will require multiple meets and home visits, any adopter will be fully supported by the Training Team here at the centre. Rossi truly is a fantastic boy who is looking for a loving and understanding home , If Rossi sounds like the one for you, just fill in an application and don't forget to favourite him! This handsome boy is Rossi! He is just over 6 years old and a terrier crossbreed. Rossi can be nervous of new people and gets overwhelmed by other dogs, therefore we are looking for a calm, understanding adult only home where Rossi is the only pet. He would enjoy a secure garden to call his own and he would prefer to be walked in quieter areas as he loves to have a good sniff on walks and he loves a roll around on the grass. Rossi will require ongoing training to help him build confidence around vet visits, handling, reactivity and car travel. Adopters with short leaving hours would be ideal as Rossi prefers to have human company during the day.

About Rossi

What life with Rossi looks like

Rossi is an adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Ballymena in Ballymena.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rossi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rossi?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Ballymena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rossi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rossi if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Ballymena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rossi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rossi isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Ballymena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rossi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
