Adopt Róża

Mixed Breed · Female

ROZIA - female dog found on Jagiella Street. Róża is a female dog with a strong character and a large temperament who has traveled a long way and is still in the midst of an important life lesson. Her past clearly made it very difficult for her to make contact with humans at first. She reacted with fear, distance, and sometimes defended herself by snapping or biting. This was a typical defensive mechanism of a dog who did not feel safe and did not know how to deal with her emotions otherwise. Currently, Róża is making progress. She is slowly learning that humans can be friends. However, it is important to remember that Róża can clearly communicate when something does not please her. She requires a caregiver who will read the signals sent by the dog, respect her boundaries, and work with her patiently and consistently. The female dog is still learning to walk on a leash. This is a new experience for her, which involves a lot of stimuli and emotions. She needs calm walks without pressure or hurry, preferably in a less crowded environment. Róża is very energetic and lively. She needs a significant amount of walks to loosen up and "discharge." Her relationships with other dogs are varied. She can function properly with some, but with others, she is unsure or reacts emotionally. She requires careful introduction to dog company and situation control. We suspect that outside of shelter conditions, she would thrive in the company of another dog. our area Street 20325-116 Kielce This page uses cookies in accordance with the settings of your browser.

About Róża

What life with Róża looks like

Róża is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Kielce in Kielce.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Róża, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Róża?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Kielce handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Róża on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Róża if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Kielce will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Róża already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Róża isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Kielce early rather than rehoming privately; they know Róża and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
