Ruda

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Ruda is a slightly larger, approximately 4-year-old, tri-colored female dog. She has erect ears and a physique that resembles a German Shepherd crossed with an Akita. She arrived at the shelter very frightened. Not only did she refuse to leave her kennel, she also refused to interact with people. She would freeze, avoid touch, and try to "melt" into the walls of her kennel. She is simply a sensitive girl who is deeply overwhelmed by the reality of the shelter. Work with Ruda is still ongoing. She is slowly opening up to humans. She has already developed a fondness for some volunteers and staff members. She has also started going on walks, which are still a big challenge for her. But we know that consistent work will change this. That's why we are trying to convince her that it's worth trusting humans because it can be nice to be with them. And we know that it's just a matter of time. Ruda is now waiting for her human. We are looking for people who have experience working with fearful dogs. Who will give her space, time, and peace, but also help her gain confidence and make her a wonderful, loving, joyful dog girl, which she is at heart. Ruda is registered under the number GB/15/7/25. She has been vaccinated against rabies and infectious diseases and has been microchipped. She has undergone a sterilization procedure. For those interested in adoption, please contact us at 530-779-523 or 534-185-616.

RUDA. Ruda to nieco większa, ok 4-letnia, trójkolorowa suczka.

About Ruda

What life with Ruda looks like

Ruda is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ruda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ruda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ruda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ruda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ruda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ruda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ruda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
