Santi

Male · Senior · 10 years

The dog in the kennel paces nervous circles, as if searching for a way out of his own thoughts. But it is enough for a person - patient, calm, with an open heart - to appear, and this seemingly difficult dog changes before our eyes. He calms down, focuses, looks at the person with curiosity. This is not the story of a dog that throws itself into everyone's arms. It is a story of someone who once gained trust and cherishes it like a treasure. This dog was born in 2016 and from life he wants above all one thing - peace and stability. He will find his place perfectly with someone who values quiet walks, does not expect tricks from the dog or constant availability for cuddling. This is a dog for someone who understands that relationships with a dog are built day by day, in silence, respect and without pressure. If you are looking for a companion for joint walks, but not necessarily just a couch potato - this could be your story. Best if his future home is a calm place, without small children and sudden changes. He could live with another dog - the company of another dog has a calming effect on him, and relations with other four-legged animals go very well. Important that the new caregiver gives him space, accepts his boundaries (which he can clearly communicate) and is ready to work on daily rituals - such as brushing, which must be approached with the right amount of delicacy and patience.

About Santi

What life with Santi looks like

Santi is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Funny Pets Czartki in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Santi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Santi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Funny Pets Czartki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Santi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Santi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Funny Pets Czartki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Santi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Santi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Funny Pets Czartki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Santi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
