Scooby

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 13 years

Super Scooby is a cute Jack Russell/Chihuahua who would love to find a home with a sunny garden, a comfy spot on the sofa and room in your heart for a charming little chap like him. Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire are helping him to find that perfect home. Scooby is just over 13 years old and is an amiable gent who is cat and dog friendly both at home and outside and could live with children who are aged 11+. Through no fault of his own, he's sadly looking for a new family. He's been very much loved, very well cared for and he's staying cosy in his current home while he waits patiently for the perfect match. Before you go thinking Scooby spends all day snoring in a basket — think again! He may be a distinguished, older gent, but he's still got plenty of pep in his paws. He absolutely love daily potters around the village and believes life is best enjoyed slowly. Why rush when there are important smells on every walk? Every blade of grass has a story to tell! Scooby's best thing in the world (besides snacks) is lounging in the garden soaking up the sunshine like a tiny retired holidaymaker, so a nice, secure garden is top of his wish list. He's fully house-trained, well-behaved in the home, and can be left for periods without causing any mischief, although he'd much rather have some lovely company and fuss if possible. Scooby could happily share his home with other calm, friendly dogs who enjoy the quieter side of life, and possibly even a cat. Children aged 11+ would suit him best, as he's really just after a peaceful, happy home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort and style. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you would like to take super Scooby home, please contact Jerry Green South Lincolnshire as follows: Complete a Dog Application Form here , or Ext.500) or Email: Please mention that you saw Scooby on the Oldies Club website.

About Scooby

What life with Scooby looks like

Scooby is a very small senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scooby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scooby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scooby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scooby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scooby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scooby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scooby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
