Sid the Sloth

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

💛 SID THE SLOTH IS LOOKING FOR HIS HAPPY EVER AFTER 💛 Sid the Sloth – D2026/40 🐾 9-year-old Lhasa Apso cross Maltese Every rescue dog has a story. Sid's is one we'll probably never fully know. Sid came into rescue as a stray. Was he once someone's treasured companion? Did he spend weeks or months fending for himself? We may never know. What we do know is that despite whatever life has thrown at him, Sid has remained one of the happiest, sweetest little souls you could ever hope to meet. This charming little gentleman greets everyone with a waggy tail and a smile. He adores people, loves tummy rubs, and would quite happily spend an afternoon curled up beside you on the sofa soaking up affection. Sid's nickname is “The Sloth” because he's mastered the art of relaxation, but don't let that fool you! He's a curious little chap too, and when he wants something he'll stand up on his back legs and do the most adorable meerkat impression you've ever seen. 🏡 Sid's ideal home: ❤️ Older, sensible children would be fine ❤️ Happy as an only dog or with a calm canine friend ❤️ Someone patient to continue his toilet training ❤️ A comfy sofa and, ideally, a human bed to share ❤️ Daily walks and lots of love 🐾 Fine meeting people and other dogs on walks 🐾 Sleeps through the night on his foster mum's bed 🐾 Loves his food (he arrived very thin and is making up for lost time!) 🐾 Happy in the company of other dogs 🐾 Not cat tested 🐾 Toys don't seem to interest him much yet Sid's toilet training is still a work in progress. He understands what is expected of him but occasionally forgets. With patience, routine, and encouragement, he's making great progress. At 9 years old, Sid isn't looking for adventure. He's looking for belonging. A warm bed. A loving family. Someone who will treasure him for the wonderful little dog he is. Could you be the person to give Sid the happy

About Sid the Sloth

What life with Sid the Sloth looks like

Sid the Sloth is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sid the Sloth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sid the Sloth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sid the Sloth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sid the Sloth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sid the Sloth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sid the Sloth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sid the Sloth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
