Senua

Mixed Breed · Female

Senua is a seven-year-old (as of April 2024) Weimaraner lady. She should be age-appropriately athletic, muscular, and work in accordance with her breed – should… Senua was transported by the dog catchers to the state-run Pen after wandering alone and sadly through a village near Sevilla. At the animal shelter, they found a microchip and contacted the owner – but he refused to pay the fee to retrieve his female dog from the Perrera, and so they contacted Arca Sevilla to see if they could take in Senua. The alternative would have been the last trip through the dark hallways of the Perrera, to the room from which no four-legged creature had ever returned. Senua was allowed to go in the other direction, towards the exit – and now, the friendly hunting dog waits for people to find her, so she can have the chance to lead the life a clever and active dog like her needs, and always would have needed. Already in the first images we received from Sevilla, it is clear that Senua was not challenged or encouraged. Her claws are far too long, the playful and learning Weimaraner lady has hardly any muscles, and she lacks a two-legged teammate to appreciate her clever head, her energy, and her tender nature. Our princess shows herself at Arca as an extremely friendly and attentive girl, happy about every activity. She gets along well with her four-legged roommates and greets all visitors to the animal shelter with joy. We wish for Senua hunting dog enthusiasts who understand that their new best friend still lacks many basic skills. We do not know what she learned in her old home, but we know that she is a quick learner who can still catch up on many things. Patience, love, tenderness, cookies, and cuddles are a guarantee of shared happiness with Senua. Senua does not really want much, but long walks, happy games with her own ball, a cozy sleeping spot, and – most importantly! – her people who understand her as a family member and show her what it means to be valued and loved. If you have a spot for our Weimaraner beauty, we would be very happy to hear from you soon!

DE·Show original

About Senua

What life with Senua looks like

Senua is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Senua, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Senua?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Senua on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Senua if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Senua already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Senua isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Senua and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
