Adopt Sic

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

♂, born ca. 2015Senior - active in Spain Sic is a ca. 2015 born Cocker Spaniel male dog with a shoulder height of ca. 40 cm. Sic was abandoned by his people and was no longer wanted. Since then, he has been eagerly waiting at our shelter for a loving, adequate home and a cozy warm dog bed to live happily in security and well-being. Sic now seeks, for his final happiness, engaged people who have plenty of time for him and integrate him actively into their daily lives, where Sic finally experiences the affection, love, and care that he has not had before. Sic is initially very mistrustful and needs time to build trust. He needs an experienced responsible home where he is understood, as well as sunny people with patience, experience, and the willingness to offer stability, routine, and consistent loving upbringing. Sic is a sensitive dog that seeks a handler with patience and empathy. Harshness, pressure, and rough handling greatly unsettle him. His future people should therefore give him ample time and allow him space. If he feels threatened or pressed, for example, by rough handling or excessive force, he can become quite grumpy and unpleasant. After initial skepticism and mistrust, Sic will become a true lifelong friend. For Sic, a loving, consistent home with active people is sought, who have plenty of time for him and enjoy spending time with him. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for him. Sic is not suitable for a household with children. Cats and/or other small animals should not be present in his future home. Sic will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for Mediterranean diseases before being rehomed. He is located in an animal shelter in Catalonia/Spain. The adoption fee for Sic is 460 Euro. Do you want to give Sic a home? Then please contact us via our following contact form. ©2022 by Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. Created with Wix.

About Sic

What life with Sic looks like

Sic is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sic, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sic?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sic on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sic if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sic already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sic isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sic and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
