Adopt Skippy-3

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

About me: I am Skippy and I come from Romania. Life has not been kind to me. I had a serious injury and lived on the streets, starving and close to blood poisoning. Due to another illness I had, both of my legs had to be amputated twice. I was in very poor condition. After two years in an animal shelter, I am finally allowed to travel to Switzerland. Here, I can enjoy being inside in warmth for the first time and being on the big grassy field. I am still unsure and mistrustful of strangers. I also cannot walk on a leash, as I still lack trust. It will take time... Are you interested and do you want to get to know me better? Then please contact Heidi Azali directly by phone: Reinach/AG. 70 Please do NOT send any questionnaire or email (below) to animal-happyend.

About Skippy-3

What life with Skippy-3 looks like

Skippy-3 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skippy-3, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skippy-3?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skippy-3 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skippy-3 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skippy-3 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skippy-3 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skippy-3 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
