Skyla

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Skyla, a female German Shepherd mix, was found with her siblings Maleo, Lisanne, and Fly, and their mother Sorsha on an abandoned industrial site. No one cared for the puppies, who were simply overlooked and left to fend for themselves. We do not know how long they had been there. A rescuer took in the family and nursed them back to health. Fortunately, the siblings were discovered and brought to safety in time. Unfortunately, not all of them were as lucky. Her brother Fly disappeared shortly after. Whether he was stolen, ran away, or what happened to him is unknown to this day. We can only hope he is safe. We wish Skyla to finally get her chance and arrive in a loving family soon. Skyla is initially shy around new people, but her curiosity usually outweighs her uncertainty. She comes to her humans on her own, demands affection, and shows her playful, happy side. She loves to play with her siblings and wants to experience what a real dog life is like. Of course, Skyla is not familiar with family life yet. She needs to learn housebreaking, leash training, staying alone, and the entire puppy ABC. Her puberty is still ahead of her. During this time, she will certainly test boundaries and "forget" what she has learned. With patience, love, and positive guidance, she will definitely master this phase of her life beautifully. Attending a positive dog school would also be a great opportunity for Skyla to discover the world with her family and build trust. After a positive pre-check and the assumption of a deposit, Skyla travels to her new home chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport. A heartfelt thank you to Alexandra. With your sponsorship, you not only gave Skyla her name, but also gave her a chance! As of 21.07.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Skyla

What life with Skyla looks like

Skyla is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Skyla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Skyla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Skyla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Skyla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Skyla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Skyla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Skyla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
