Smo was probably abandoned and suddenly appeared on the street of Lavi's neighbor. He looked lost and knew little of the dangers of traffic. For his protection, he was taken in and brought to safety. Smo is initially somewhat reserved. He watches carefully and needs a moment to trust. However, it usually takes only minutes or a few hours until his curiosity takes over and he cautiously seeks contact. He is calm, unobtrusive, and spends most of the day relaxed and dozing. At the same time, he wants to belong and shows interest in his humans in a quiet, gentle way. Smo gets along well with other cats and should not be kept as a single tomcat. He also gets along with dogs. Free roaming is not an option for him. Smo tested positive for FIV. However, this is not a reason not to adopt him if you fall in love with him. FIV is a viral disease that can weaken the immune system. Nevertheless, FIV-positive cats can live as long as cats that tested negative. The virus is exclusively transferable to other cats, people and other animals cannot catch it. Transmission is only possible through severe bite wounds. A FIV-positive and a FIV-negative cat can live together without problems, sharing bowls and sleeping places, provided they are socially compatible. Moreover, the transmission through sexual contact is excluded by castration. Free roaming is not an option due to the illness. In the past, Smo had rhinotracheitis. Occasionally his eyes still tear slightly, but this does not impair him in everyday life. Regarding his travel arrangements, Smo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas. Whoever gives Smo a home receives a calm, sensitive tomcat who does not immediately give his trust - but returns it all the more sincerely. Smo wurde vermutlich ausgesetzt und tauchte plötzlich in der Straße der Nachbarin von Lavi auf. Er wirkte verloren und kannte die Gefahren des Straßenverkehrs kaum. Zu seinem Schutz wurde er aufgenommen und in Sicherheit gebracht. Charakterlich ist Smo zunächst etwas zurückhaltend. Er beobachtet aufmerksam und braucht einen Moment, um Vertrauen zu fassen. Doch meist dauert es nur Minuten oder wenige Stunden, bis seine Neugier überwiegt und er vorsichtig den Kontakt sucht. Er ist ruhig, unaufdringlich und verbringt einen Großteil des Tages entspannt dösend. Gleichzeitig möchte er dazugehören und zeigt auf leise, sanfte Art Interesse an seinen Menschen. Mit anderen Katzen ist Smo gut verträglich und sollte nicht als Einzelkater gehalten werden. Auch mit Hunden kommt er zurecht. Freigang kommt für ihn nicht in Frage. Smo ist FIV-positiv getestet. Dies ist jedoch kein Grund, ihn nicht zu adoptieren, wenn man sich in ihn verliebt. FIV ist eine Viruserkrankung, die das Immunsystem schwächen kann. Dennoch können FIV-positive Katzen ein ebenso hohes Alter erreichen wie negativ getestete Katzen. Das Virus ist ausschließlich auf andere Katzen übertragbar, Menschen und andere Tiere können sich nicht anstecken. Eine Übertragung ist nur bei schweren Bissverletzungen möglich. Eine FIV-positive und eine FIV-negative Katze können problemlos zusammenleben, Näpfe und Schlafplätze teilen, sofern sie sozial verträglich sind. Durch die Kastration entfällt zudem eine mögliche Übertragung über den Geschlechtsakt. Freigang kommt aufgrund der Erkrankung nicht in Frage. In der Vergangenheit hatte Smo eine Rhinotracheitis. Gelegentlich tränen seine Augen noch leicht, was ihn im Alltag jedoch nicht beeinträchtigt. Bei seiner Ausreise ist Smo kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Nach einer positiven Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 250 Euro kann er in sein neues Zuhause ziehen. Wer Smo ein Zuhause schenkt, bekommt einen ruhigen, sensiblen Kater, der Vertrauen nicht sofort verschenkt – es aber umso ehrlicher zurückgibt.
