Stella

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Adult · 4 years

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your home with love, Stella might be the perfect match. With patience and understanding she’ll blossom into the most devoted friend you could ask for. Stella does have some ongoing medical needs that her new family will need to consider going forward, our team here at the centre would be happy to discuss her needs with any potential adopters. If Stella sounds like the girl for you, we’d love to hear from you! She can’t wait to meet her forever family and start the next chapter of her life. Stella is a gorgeous 4 year old Staffie searching for her paw-fect forever home. She previously lived in a home for some time and has recently returned to our care. Stella would love to be the only pet in the household, where she can soak up all the attention she truly deserves. Affectionate and loving with her favourite people, Stella would thrive in a calm home with children aged 16+ who can understand her occasional worries. Although she may appear confident, she sometimes needs a little reassurance. Meeting other dogs can feel overwhelming for her, and she prefers having her own space. She’s currently learning to wear a muzzle on her walks, discovering that it leads to tasty treats and exciting adventures. Stella would enjoy access to quieter walking areas where she can relax, explore nature, and follow all the interesting smells. She’ll also need a secure garden of her own where she can bask in the sunshine, enjoy zoomies and play to her heart’s content. Stella is a sweet girl who adores home comforts and spending time with her favourite people. She can find being left alone stressful, so she’s hoping for adopters who are home most of the time. She loves her cosy beds and would prefer them to be placed in a quiet, low-traffic area where she can settle in for a peaceful snooze.

About Stella

What life with Stella looks like

Stella is a medium-sized adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Ongoing medical needs requiring discussion with shelter team, requires muzzle training for walks, separation anxiety

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
