Struppi stammt ursprünglich von einer behördlichen Abnahme. Die äußerst freundliche Rüde ist mit Hunden, die er kennt, gut verträglich. An der Stubenreinheit und der Erziehung muss noch gearbeitet werden. Diese Hunde kennen leider keinen normalen Alltag, aber mit viel Geduld und langsamen Heranführen an neue Dinge werden sie bestimmt zu treuen Begleitern. Struppi benötigt sehr viel Aufmerksamkeit. Er hat das Pica-Syndrom und sollte nur unter Aufsicht frei in der Wohnung oder im Haus sich bewegen dürfen. Auch beim Spaziergang benötigt er unbedingt einen Maulkorb, damit er nichts frisst.
