Adopt Stupsi

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 3 years

Update 01.06.26: Unfortunately, we have no joyful news for you. Stupsi is still with us at our shelter and is eagerly waiting for her people. Additionally, a heart condition (HCM) has been diagnosed in her, so she now requires daily medication. However, administering the medication is uncomplicated; with the right treats, she takes her tablets completely without issue. Nevertheless, the current situation is not making her life easy. Stupsi simply wants to relax and enjoy cuddles. But as soon as there are any sounds or other cats pass by her box, she immediately enters a state of alertness. The shelter life means enormous stress for her; she is constantly vigilant and hardly finds any rest. For Stupsi, we wish for a quiet home without children and without other animals. We are looking for people with time, patience, and understanding who can give her the chance to settle in and build trust. Since she was recently medicated, a blood pressure check will be necessary in the coming weeks to ensure the medication is working well. We want to spare her shelter stress as quickly as possible and are therefore seeking a foster home with the option for permanent adoption. Please share this post widely. Somewhere, there must be the people who can give Stupsi the peace, love, and security she so desperately needs. ❣️ 16.05.26: Stupsi 🩷 The sensitive kitten was reluctantly surrendered to us by her owners due to health reasons. Stupsi is really suffering with us, especially the presence of other cats makes her anxious. In her old home, she had to endure quite a bit from the neighbor cats. She is very loving towards humans and lets everything happen. Unfortunately, we cannot completely isolate her from fellow animals due to space constraints, so she is desperately in need of a quiet home where she can settle in.

About Stupsi

What life with Stupsi looks like

Stupsi is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Neuwied in Neuwied.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stupsi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stupsi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Neuwied handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stupsi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stupsi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Neuwied will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stupsi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stupsi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Neuwied early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stupsi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
