adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Sun has found her home! Her story: Sun is about 3.5 years old, stays under 60 cm shoulder height, and carries a long, very dense coat that requires intensive care. Already at the beginning, some tangles had to be removed – regular brushing is therefore an essential part of her daily routine. Sun is very people-friendly and open. She enjoys being petted and appreciates affection, although she appears a bit more calm overall than Shine. She does not show fear or great shyness. Typical of her is her pronounced curiosity: Sun is constantly sniffing, observing, and "searching." Sniffing work and sniffing games would likely bring her a lot of joy. She appears intelligent and attentive and should definitely be mentally stimulated. Compared to Shine, Sun reacts a bit more strongly when people or dogs pass by – she reliably alerts and shows herself to be watchful. Overall, both fit well together without being overly nervous. On the leash, Sun usually runs well. Unlike Shine, she often bravely goes forward by whistling – she often masters new small challenges confidently. Her appearance resembles an Eurasier-mixed breed. The Eurasier is a spitz-type family dog with a dense, intensive-care coat. It is considered very people-oriented, sensitive, and vigilant, but is usually more reserved towards strangers. Eurasiers are intelligent and independent, require a close bond, loving consequences, and both mental and social stimulation. We can also imagine Sun fitting well in a family with larger children, provided her boundaries are respected. Sun is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport. Who would like to give this smart, friendly, and watchful female dog a loving home? We thank heartily Ilona R., the namingsponsor, who gave Sun her beautiful name and thus a personal identity. A big thank you also goes to Annette W., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Sun. As of: 24.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 24.02.2026

About Sun

What life with Sun looks like

Sun is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sun, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sun?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sun on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sun if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sun already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sun isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sun and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
