Adopt Sweetheart Flint

Greyhound · Male · Adult · 5 years

Hi there, my name is Flint and I’m on a mission to find my perfect home. I am a 5 year old retired ex-racing greyhound and I was originally rehomed by Rain Rescue last year. Sadly my owner fell ill so I have had to come back and look for some new humans to call my own. This means I have already lived in a home so I’m used to all the home comforts already! I have a beautiful black coat with white “snowflakes” which always gets lots of attention! Things I love: One of my favourite things to do is to play fetch! I love running after my favourite squeaky ball and I even bring it back most of the time! I also love racing around the paddock but after 5 minutes of zoomies I’m happy to get back to my nap. I enjoy my walks but I love snuggling on the sofa just as much. I can live with dogs: I am dog friendly so I can live with another dog. Preferably a dog similar size to me or another sighthound. Child friendly: I am very gentle and have met older children at my previous home so I can lived with children aged 8+ Toilet training: As I have lived in a home I am already toilet trained! My ideal home: I would like a calm home with a nice big garden to play fetch and a big comfy sofa for me to stretch out on. Exercise: I am a typical greyhound which means I don’t actually need lots of exercise. A couple of 20-30 minute walks a day is perfect. No cats: As I am an ex-racer I can’t live with cats or other small furries. Are you ready to welcome a sweet, loving, playful boy into your home? My adoption fee is £250

About Sweetheart Flint

What life with Sweetheart Flint looks like

Sweetheart Flint is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sweetheart Flint, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sweetheart Flint?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sweetheart Flint on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sweetheart Flint if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sweetheart Flint already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sweetheart Flint isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sweetheart Flint and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
