Tai

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Tai had to spend a year in a Spanish killing shelter before she was rescued and moved to a known and well-regarded animal rescuer. There, she was prepared for her journey to Switzerland and has been in foster home and dog pension Grisette in the Jura since the end of December 2024, waiting to be adopted. Tai is a beautiful, slightly rough-coated female dog. She loves all fellow animals and has also passed the cat test with flying colors. Tai is people-oriented, friendly, and needs people who are willing to adopt her as a family member and meet her needs, giving her a wonderful and beautiful home. She is also suitable for a family with responsible children. Tai is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be rehomed in cooperation with the Tierschutzbund Basel Regional (for more images, videos, and regular updates on Tai, visit: Tai ). If you are interested in Tai and would like to meet her informally, please use the informal application form from the dog pension Grisette, where she is currently housed. You can either call at +41 32 462 3219 (if the answering machine is on, please leave a message, as it will be returned) or email . Alternatively, you can apply using the button below, and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding if the processing of your request takes a little longer. We will do our best to provide a response as soon as possible. However, it may happen that many inquiries come in at once or that our resources are temporarily urgently needed elsewhere.

About Tai

What life with Tai looks like

Tai is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzbund Basel Regional.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tai, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tai?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzbund Basel Regional handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tai on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tai if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzbund Basel Regional will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tai already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tai isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzbund Basel Regional early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tai and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
