Teddy Bear

Pomeranian Β· Male Β· Young Β· 2 years

Teddy is a young Pomeranian cross who has shown himself to be a real lap dog as well as a sensitive soul. He has been very tolerant of all handling, including grooming which he will need regularly due to his breed. He is a smart boy who loves foodie puzzle games.. or just food in general! If you have snacks be prepared for those big beautiful eyes to be seeking you out, waiting for you to offer them so he can take them politely and show off his lovely manners. He can be vocal around new people initially, but is keen to make friends if he is allowed to take his time. Due to his worry around new people, Teddy is looking for an adult only household. He enjoys going for short walks with his dog friends here onsite, but does not enjoy prolonged interactions with them such as going offlead. Due to this we are recommending that he stay onlead when in public and so would benefit from his own secure garden for offlead time. He is looking to be the only dog in the household, however could potentially live with a confident cat. He is looking to live with people who can read and respect his body language and give him space when he needs it, so would be best suited to live with teens. About Teddy Bear

What life with Teddy Bear looks like

Teddy Bear is a small young adult pomeranian dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy Bear, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy Bear?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy Bear on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy Bear if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Teddy Bear already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy Bear isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy Bear and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
