Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE

Testimony of the adoption of CHEYENNE Posted on November 24, 2018 August 10, 2019 by Brigit Another super love story between a human and an adult cat.... After the death of our 14-year-old cat in August 2015, it took us some time to grieve. Then the desire to have someone to cherish became more and more present for my son and me. After an allergy test in the presence of cats in July 2018, for my son, the decision was made, but the photo and description of Cheyenne, 3 years old, were already in our thoughts. I took advantage of my son's vacation in August to welcome her at my home, after having visited her in her foster family. She was curious about me and even accepted head-to-head cuddles from the first meeting. Cheyenne therefore arrived on Saturday, August 4, in our home. As soon as we saw the papers to sign, poof... she had disappeared. We looked for her with Laurence, but she had found a place that I hadn't even suspected for hiding; o) We let her relax while finishing the papers and then she came out to nibble on some kibble. The fear had passed. I expected her to hide again later, but no, she explored the apartment, tested the litter box, the couch, the table, all the seats... We have a secure loggia with a specific protective net. The next day, I therefore allowed her to go there and there she fell in love with this flower-filled balcony. Even with colder temperatures, she likes to take her walk there. She quickly adopted me and is often on my lap. For my son, no allergy issues, but this little human is very active, so sometimes she makes it clear that she doesn't want to play anymore. Nevertheless, as the weeks passed, she got closer to him, she comes when he calls her and seems to wait for his return from school in the evening. If people come to the house, even in groups, no problem, she looks who is arriving, sniffs the offered hands, then goes about her business. It's a mix of independence, relaxation, and cuddling. When she wants quiet, she goes to my bed and takes her naps. However, she doesn't sleep with me, even though one morning I found her lying on my feet! We have set up a small ritual (morning and evening): we say "Kiss", she presents the top of her head and receives the kiss. She also has her own character and when I scold her (for example, scratching the ground), she sulks by puffing. If something is wrong, she comes to see me and puffs (so I check the litter, the kibble, the water fountain ...) but most of the time it's so I open the balcony. Our life has been enriched with sweetness with Cheyenne who had a great foster family before coming to us. Thank you to L'Ecole du Chat de Drancy for the attention, presence and wise advice. We hope to spend as much time as possible with her. Frequently asked

Adopting Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. École du Chat de Drancy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — École du Chat de Drancy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with École du Chat de Drancy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Témoignage de l’adoption de CHEYENNE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
