Tetley

Mixed Breed · Male

Just look at this handsome, four-year-old tabby and white boy! Tetley hasn’t had the easiest start in life. He was found roaming the streets, unneutered and with a severe neck injury. But this resilient lad has turned a huge corner and is officially ready to find his forever home. Tetley is now fully healed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He’s safe, sound, and looking for a loving home to call his own. A few things to know about Tetley: Tetley needs an experienced cat owner - he can occasionally get a little overstimulated when it comes to food and affection. He’s made huge progress in foster care over the last few weeks, but he needs a human who knows how to read feline body language and give him space when he asks for it. Haws Syndrome: You might notice Tetley’s third eyelids are partially visible. Our vets have given him a full check-up - it causes him no pain or discomfort, requires no ongoing treatment and has already been clearing up nicely in foster care as he settles in. A peaceful, child-free home: Because he’s still learning to manage his excitement, Tetley needs a home without young children. Access to the great outdoors: Tetley absolutely loves fresh air! He’ll need a home in a safe area, well away from busy roads, so he can safely explore the outdoors once he’s fully settled. Tetley has shown us just how resilient and wonderful he is despite a tough past. With a patient, experienced owner, he is going to make a fantastic companion. Could you be Tetley’s perfect match? If you think you can offer this sweet boy the experienced, peaceful home he deserves, please complete our adoption form. Please note with the increase in cost of veterinary treatment we now require adopters to take out relevant insurance - we will provide more information during the adoption process. Every cat deserves the opportunity to be provided with the required veterinary treatment should they need it during times of illness or injury. About Tetley

What life with Tetley looks like

Tetley is a extra-large adult mixed breed cat waiting at RSPCA Stourbridge and District in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tetley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tetley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Stourbridge and District handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tetley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tetley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Stourbridge and District will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tetley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tetley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Stourbridge and District early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tetley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
