Stuart

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Breed: Malinois. Gender: male Age: born 24.04.2024 at the animal shelter since 10/2024Character: energetic, shy, insecure Special features: dog experience required: yes Hello, I am Stuart I came here from another animal shelter at the end of 2024, so I have spent most of my life in shelters. This has led to me not knowing much for a long time and not having proper training. Fortunately, this has changed since I moved in, and I am learning to know the world a little better every day. In the training mentor project, I have learned all basic commands. I am very active, quirky, and fully committed to work due to my breed. Whether commands, balance exercises, medical training or various tricks, I am enthusiastic about them all. My mentor also trains me with different everyday distractions. Cars, bicycles, mopeds, construction sites... I cope very well with loud noises with the right guidance. I just don't like it when strangers stare at me or come too close. Then I start to bark. That's why I wear a muzzle outside, which doesn't bother me at all. Since I learned to ride quietly on the car back seat, I am out and about a lot. Then I can go on nice hikes and mountain tours around Rosenheim. But also trips near the city, where it can get quite hectic sometimes, are part of it - And because I can handle stressful situations better and better, I can now buy my treats at the local pet store myself. It can truly be said that I now have a solid foundation. Still, I'm not an beginner dog. I need calm and confident people with dog experience, clear boundaries and fair, kind leadership. The right mix of mental stimulation and consistent rest training, reliable structures and security in daily life are very important for me. Rasse: Malinois. About Stuart

What life with Stuart looks like

Stuart is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Rosenheim in Rosenheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stuart, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stuart?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Rosenheim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stuart on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stuart if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Rosenheim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stuart already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stuart isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Rosenheim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stuart and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
