Tigger

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 7 months

Tigger is looking for a calm and predictable home with loving and adopters who can take him on sniffy strolls, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and care he deserves. He is a sweet boy who could live with secondary school children who will play with him nicely and give him space to rest and relax when needed. Tigger is friendly with other dogs that give him time to approach on his terms so could live with a calm and confident dog who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, this will be pending successful meets at the centre. Living with a dog is not a necessity, he would be happy with calm and polite walking buddies. Tigger can be encouraged to engage in training if a tasty treat is on offer. Tigger can be a little worried being left, so is look for someone home the majority of the time especially to begin with, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Tigger takes daily medication and will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home, so please bear all of this in mind when applying. Super sweet lad Tigger is a 7 month old Shih Tzu cross Cavalier who is such a happy and fun little dude. He likes his toys, he will bounce around after them, he does like to de-fluff a toy or two though. He loves to be involved in what you’re doing, putting his paws up on you and wagging his tail while you work, or sticking by your side on a gentle stroll. He is happy with gentle fusses all over, but does need you to keep checking in to make sure he is comfortable. This cute little guy is ready to find his new home.

About Tigger

What life with Tigger looks like

Tigger is a puppy cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tigger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
